Cerise Computers has been a client since 2006, starting with some usability changes we made to the Cerise.com ordering system. Before our changes, if a user missed filling out any required fields during checkout an error was generated informing the user he needed to restart the buying process by selecting his desired computer and options again. Coupled with the fact required fields were not clearly marked, it led to what we can only imagine were many shopping carts abandoned in frustration.
We began by cutting back the number and more clearly denoting required fields. Next we used some PHP magic to return an improperly filled form to the user, marking the fields that had not been filled and using messaging to be clear the fields were required.
Cerise has come back to us over the years for some other improvements as well, including changing the hosting for the site and researching SEO keywords. The SEO research and implementation led to a dramatic jump in Alexa, up about 2,000,000 in placement, and put Cerise in the top 10 in Google for some phrases we targeted.
